STATEMENT OF CLAIN

Defendant

1. The plaintiffs are bankers. The first plaintiff resides at No.27 Queen's Road Central, Victoria, Hongkong.

The second and third plaintiffe reside at No.181 Queen's Road

Central aforesaid.

2. The defendant is His Majesty's Attorney-General for the Colony of Hongkong.

る。 The plaintiffs are the owners of certain pieces or par-

cels of land situste in Survey District No.4 in the New Territor-

ies of the said Colony and known as New Territories Lots Nos.435,

438,439,441,443 to 459 inclusive, 471 to 559 inclusive, 731 to

770 inclusive.

On the 14th day of July 1922, the Governor of the said Colony gave notice to the plaintiffs that their said lands would be resumed and taken from them on the expiration of a period of four months from the publication of such notice and that compen- sation would be paid to the plaintiffs trørefor.

5. The said notice was given in pursuance of powers to

that end conferred by section 3 of the Crown Lands Resumption
